I believe Sparta, Tennessee is perhaps the most wonderful place in the world. I call it home. The pace is somehow slower here, the people still committed to throwing up a friendly hand to wave their greeting, and the land beckons you with its beauty. Here you can find waterfalls to view, hikes to enjoy, waters to boat, fish, and swim, phenomenal and plentiful golfing, caves to spelunk, and state parks minutes away. There are four mild seasons here. Sparta gives you peace and tranquility, but city life can be found an hour and a half drive away in any direction: west - Nashville, east -Knoxville, and south – Chattanooga. Travel north fifteen minutes and you will be in Cookeville, Tennessee, a bigger city where Tennessee Technological University is located. Restaurants and shopping abound. If you enjoy the arts, Cumberland County Playhouse, renowned for its performances, is just a thirty minute drive away.

In spite of all of that, you will find no state income tax in Tennessee, property taxes to be at a minimal, homeowners insurance to be more than affordable, and housing prices to be extremely agreeable.
